Self Love

Saturday, February 02, 2013

A team I belong to, Falling For Fitness, suggested that we make positive affirmations of love for ourself. We are to share one thing each day. We think of Valentine's Day as giving love to our sweethearts. I find it easier to talk of good qualities of others than to talk of any that I possess.

I like that I am a people person. I like to talk to people. I like to encourage people. I expect nothing back. By giving encouragement to others, I feel encouraged.

Now, what do you like about yourself?

Like you, I am a people person. I get the greatest pleasure helping someone else go beyond their limits. I've been a teacher all my life in one way or another. I've come to realize that once I have given a gift of any kind to someone, I give up ownership. What the person does after that is not my business. It's the freely given gift that makes all the difference. I love it about myself that I can give without conditions.

I am the same way - very hard to compliment myself. But I will try - I have gained a lot of knowledge, especially about best educational practices, and I will share that information to help others, even if they are not in my classes. I love my family deeply and will do anything that I can for them, as long as it is healthy and wise.
