Doctor's appointments required I be in Florida this week. I've been delighted to be here. I did 75 minutes in the pool that was heated to 84 F with an outdoor temp of 72. Absolutely lovely.
When I returned homefrom the pool, I had a message from the family keeping an eye on my NC home. They had had an inch of snow, and were expecting at least another inch.
She's going to send me pictures so I can see my house in the snow. I'm missing all the pictures I wanted to get, but my body is blessed by the warmth.
Please remind me of this in August if I start complaining about how hot I am when I'm supposed to be getting in my walking miles!!
In the meantime, I'd better get the Yorkie out for a run.
Kenya update: the group arrived safely, and have traveled to the village where they are to build the medical center. Everyone in the village greeted them. The luggage was finally straightened out and my sister was finally able to take excedrin for her headache. No internet at Nairobi airport or the motel. So everyone was calling home with the group phone.
My sister has her own room and mosquito netting is installed over the bed.
She's been travelling 3 days without a shower, so she's hoping to clean up and get a good night's sleep.
Speaking of walking in the heat of summer, technically it is summer in Kenya right now. They probably think it is summer there year round since they are right on the equator. I'd need a ton of sun screen!!
