Day 33 and down a pound

I cannot believe it is Day 33 and I'm still eating healthy and working out. This isn't the longest attempt at healthy living that I've made, but it's the most serious one I think. I am not comfortable enough to say that this will stick, but I am positive about the future, which is a HUGE change for me!

Yesterday was Friday, and after work I went to the gym for thirty minutes. I would have stayed longer but my knee wasn't feeling so great. At home I did some core muscle exercises.

This morning, Saturday, I got up early (one of my goals is to stick to the same sleep schedule seven days a week) made some eggs for breakfast, made a to-do list, worked on a shopping list for later today and picked up my kitchen. This is so different from how my weekend would have been spent, even just three months ago. But instead of napping on the couch and being depressed, I'm doing something. Something is better than nothing, right?

So after I got everything set for the day I went to the gym and spent almost two hours there! I actual enjoy the gym when I know that I have the time to be there. A friend was there and we walked for most of the first hour and chatted. Not a major workout but definitely worth it. Then I did a program on the treadmill and finished with core exercises. Now I have to start my homework (due tomorrow), nothing like waiting til the last minute.

After homework I will go to the store and buy healthy food for the week. And spend tonight and tomorrow doing a little cooking for the week ahead. I know that I can't spend every weekend of my life staying home and doing these "chore" like things, but for right now I don't have another choice. This is what is working and I'm going to stick with it! :)

And I weighed in today and am down another pound, so I've lost 13 pounds so far. Making progress right?

    Wow! It sounds like you had a very productive day!

Cooking ahead and meal planning are great ways to meet your goals. You're right, you may not be able to do it every weekend, but over time it gets quicker to do since you've got a groove about it (for instance, having go-to recipes, etc.)

    It seems like you are on the right track to healthy living. I am encouraged that your post did not seem like you were trying to push yourself way too hard. It seems like you are trying to stay focused and consistent. emoticon
