WE can accomplish our goals!!!--One bite at a time..

Do you ever feel overwhelmed when it comes to accomplishing your goals? Do you feel like there is just so much weight, so much flab, so many obstacles to overcome to reach your goals? I have felt the same way. I have looked at myself in the mirror and thought, "No Way." I saw all the flab, all the weight and all the insecurities of my current state and felt overwhelmed. How was I supposed to accomplish such an enormous feat? This would take forever. This would be hard. This would be almost impossible, I thought.

Well, I am here to tell you that sure it is an enormous feat, sure it is going to be hard, and yes it is going to take hard work over time. But, is it impossible? NO! Is it worth it? YES! Can you do it? OF COURSE!!

An analogy that has stuck with me throughout my journey is...How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! A large goal is met by setting small goals and continuing over time. We can't expect to get everything we want overnight. We can't expect to undo years of negligence in a fraction of the time it took us to get there. We need to have realistic expectations and honest hard work to complete the task at hand.

What works for me is setting daily goals, weekly goals and monthly goals. Sure this may seem tedious, but it is a great way to stay focused and feel accomplished. We can feel great about what we do by achieving our daily tasks. These will add up over time. One day at a time, one week at a time and one month at a time will keep us on a steady track to our final destination.

What really got me motivated was the saying, "What can I do TODAY to lose weight?" This was simple yet complicated. This pointed out the immediate ability to do what I can now. The best way to get going on something is too just get started. Get going NOW, not later, not tomorrow, NOW. The moment is here, make the most of it, get the most of it. Today is when we can make a difference, today is when everything starts, each moment counts and each day adds up to consistency over time.

Take each day as it is, each moment as an opporotunity and We can accomplish our GOALS, one bite at a time!!
