Birthday Dinner Recap / Redux Plan

Saturday, February 02, 2013

So yesterday was my birthday and Richie took me to dinner so I wouldn't have to cook. We had a coupon for an italian restaurant so we decided to go and splurge. The restaurant ended up being pretty shabby (like mom and pop breakfast joint with the formica booths) but still $20/dish which was interesting. I ordered a glass of wine, piece of bread, cup of chicken soup and pasta with red sauce and shrimp. The only thing I finished was the bread and the wine, haha. I had two shrimp, 1/4 of the soup, and probably 1 cup of the pasta. Part of this is because it really wasn't that tasty, but also I was super full. So, expecting to go over my calorie range on my birthday, I didn't.

One of the reasons is that my calorie goals were increased because I've been working out so much. I ended up losing another lb this week so happy birthday to me.

Tonight we are going for mexican foods w/friends, and then bowling. there will likely be more drinking involved than just one glass of wine, but I burned about 500 calories at the gym today, and have eaten really well besides that - so good start to that. For dinner I think I will get the carne asada (mmm omg) which is basically just MEAT, eat a 4 oz. portion and bring the rest home. I'll eat it with guacamole on corn tortillas, with some beans. At least that is nothing fried or drenched in bad-for-you sauces! And yes, there will be a margarita in there, but after that I will stick to a no-sugar mixer. After cutting sugar I don't even want it anymore but remember: 80% rule allows you to have a margarita on your birthday =)
