Don't Laugh, Time Travel is Possible!

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

Saturday, February 02, 2013

Please, as you read this blog today, I only ask that you keep an open mind. I want you to remember that great scientists throughout time have been ridiculed for their discoveries and only after death have they been proven true.

Now, people may see the obvious genius in the work of my good Sparkbuddy Bill, aka ELYMWX. You can even read his most recent bog at

He has a difficult job engineering new technology, moving humanity into the future but my discoveries will allow people to do what has only been dreamed of, to travel back in time. I know you probably scoff or think I am delusional but let me explain.

Recently I have only been able to travel back a few months at a time but I sense of breakthrough will be coming and I will be able to travel back years into the past.

At the moment, this experiment in time travel only happens for brief moments. Each morning after rising and taking care of some daily chores, I wander into my sanctuary, my vault of solitude and step onto my time machine. Each day I have been traveling back in time. Today, I travelled to September 16, 2012. Yesterday it was September 14. It appears for brief moments I can go back in time to revisit the past.

This place of sanctuary is important because it seems that once I leave and share my discoveries, the three women of my house like to scoff at me, scoff as poor Galileo was once ridiculed.

Dad, they point out, "way to go, you are losing weight but that scale is not a time machine"

I try to differ, explaining that they are wrong. I have data. Each day over the last months and years I have taken the information that the scale has given and I have recorded it. And now, I am revisiting the past, seeing readings that were present in the past, evidence of time travel. I haven't recorded all my data but there are other moments in the day when time traveling occurs, I remember moments of long ago, walking, exercising, and even jogging and they are happening again.

Just you watch, tomorrow I will be revisiting another day in the past and this will continue. Best of all, in a few months I will make a breakthrough and will be going back decades in time. Yes, you may all scoff at me but just you wait. This summer when I step on the scale and hit my goal weight, it will be like traveling back 30 years, and while some of you may have decided to join me, others will be on the sidelines wishing you hadn't scoffed and ridiculed.

Just a warning. Time travel is possible

I agree that you can travel back in time. I have done it myself a few times this past year. The great thing about it is the thrill I get when I realize just how far back I am going. I feel even better this time around.

Congratulations on your thought provoking blog. I really enjoyed it. emoticon

I found this story to be a very interesting and totally different way of looking at weight
control; so I printed it and read it to our members of TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) weight control group at this mornings meeting. I'm hoping that it will give our group
a different idea on looking at weight control and help them in their efforts to lose weight.. ----Bill

Wonderful! Such a fun blog & mindset!

I'm still stuck in the here and now, unable to motivate myself into all the healthy eating healthy workouts is all fun and wonderful mindset. I'm afraid my machine would have to go back about 37 years to get me back to a good weight.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am a 72 year old great-grandma and was wondering if it was worth all the effort to lose weight. Your blog let me know that it is not just about the weight but overall better self esteem. I don't have that many more years ahead of me so going back in time sounds like a wonderful thing to do. So far (since Christmas 2012) I have managed to lose 6 1/2 pounds and 1 size and it feels great. I will be watching how you do. Good Luck

I really enjoyed this piece - and it's so true. I've ignored Sparks suggestion to get rid of old smaller clothes, and the elation at fitting back into them is motivating. I too enjoy going back in time in the present, and am working hard to be doing more of just than in the not-too-distant future.

You'll never know how much I needed that post. I have not been on SparkPeople for a long time. I have not even readbeen the sparkmy mail I get. But tonight I couldn't sleep so was glancing through my email and saw your Title TIME TRAVEL IS POSSIBLE...LOL At the time I did not realize it was a blog and thought what can time travel have to do with food. So I can clicked on it and very happy I did.

I'm going to be 65 in May waiting for the go ahead for a total shoulder replacement surgery soon. Have to use a wheel chair. Just found out I can't eat glutin, or dairy and keep gaining:( and losing the same 20# over and over. So all the pain and feeling older then dirt going back in time sounded wonderful thanks maybe even I can feel younger again. I was going tomorrow to get the healthy foods I needed for this new glutin free
, Dairy free diet I'm suppose to be on. Which my Dr. Says will not only make me feel 100% better but I will probably lose easier also. But to be able to go back in time and feel younger again would be the best thing ever. You are the proof time travel does work. I'm going to be following your BLOG tomake sure this TIME TRAVEL IS isn't a fluke and that it keeps working. Thanks again I needed that time traveler at 4amthe this morning. Good night. Jan
