I have a friend I work with...she is always complaining that she wants to be more sporty, more healthy etc etc etc. The other day I was a little fed up in hearing it and said, well why dont you actually do something to make you more sporty and healthy? Her response...I have no idea where to start. We spoke about this a bit more, and I thought it was interesting what came out of it. I thankfully grew up in a household where playing sports and eating healthy was the norm...my weight issues havent come from a lack of knowledge, but more my relationship with myself. But my friend didnt have this luxury and simply had no idea how she could go from what she saw herself to be to the superfit and healthy person she wanted to be. Ironically, she saw me as being healthy and fit, while she is actually quite a slender girl (although addmittedly she doesnt have alot of physical strength). So the outcome, we decided we would go to a zumba session, as she likes to dance. Although its not my thing, Im very proud of her that even when I said, oh i dont think ill come back, she signed up to 2 months of it...and has been three times this week. Lets hope she keeps this up and makes it part of her new 'sporty' lifestyle! And also this motivates me as the friends around me are also making choices to make their lives healthier and better.
