South Beach Week Two: Reflections

This was my second week doing South Beach. It had highs and lows!

*Down two notches on a belt that hardly fit at all before I started South Beach.
*I now fit into a pair of jeans I couldn't even button up before I started South Beach.
*I can tell that my tummy is leaner, and so is my face.
*I have some skin issues and those are clearing up--I think the changes in my diet helped, especially the fact that I finally got myself back off caffeine this week.
*I can manage hunger much more easily on a diet that doesn't lead to wide fluctuations in my blood sugar, and that is a good feeling.
*I got back into an exercise routine this week and made it to the gym three times. I'm looking to increase that soon but I didn't want to overdo it for now.

*This week, the scale only moved down half a pound! This always happens when I start up an exercise routine but it is soooo annoying.
*I found myself losing focus and motivation because of the scale this week. This is something I really need to work on.

So yes, the week had ups and downs. I just need to remember that even a half pound down is half a pound in the right direction. Eating healthier and exercising regularly is good for me, and it feels good, and eventually, I WILL see those pounds dropping off like I want them to.

One thing I did this week was to add a list of intermediary goals to my SparkPage. At 214.6, I'm just 2.6 pounds away from my first goal of losing the weight I gained this fall/winter. So I'm going to focus on that for now and keep on fighting! emoticon

    I agree with OLIVIANIGHT. As long as the clothes are showing progress and there are visible signs, I don't need the number on the scale.

    Sounds awesome the non-scale victories tell the true story. I've had to learn that over the last few months. The scale hasn't been playing fair but my clothes size tells that it's working. hang in there and I know you'll meet that first goal soon.

    Sounds like you're making some progress! I'd much rather have a shrinking belt than any movement on the scale : )
