Egg Substitute

Saturday, February 02, 2013

I have been trying to use egg substitute rather than good old plain eggs. So far I have liked them for scrambling and for using in recipes. Why add all that cholesterol if you don't have to. Even chocolate chip cookies taste fine. Ok, maybe cookies don't really add a lot nutritionally but it sure is a nice addition to the food I eat. This morning I made a burrito with a little mozzarella cheese and guacamole and my egg beaters cooked up in the microwave. Tastes just fine and is easy and rather a healthy meal. At least it hits a lot of the protein and veggie requirements.

I definitely have to have a good old fried egg every now and then. But egg substitute works well for scrambled, omelet and as an ingredient for baking. The consistency is good but unfortunately it is quite expensive.

Good for you if you like it. It is a choice. Different people have different preferences.

I use egg substitue for almost everything, except the occasional fried egg I might want for breakfast. I love it, but I wish it was less expensive! emoticon
