One area of goals I wanted to work on this year was to try new foods. For me, being in maintenance, there are certain foods that just don't fit in a healthy lifestyle. Donuts, they just don't work for me. I would like to have them--but I would have more than one, and you know how that goes.
There is a whole list of foods that I only have occasionally, because, while tasting completely yummy, they are devoid of nutritional value. So. I figured if I was going to eliminate foods, I needed to find some others to add to the list. That way I wouldn't feel restricted.
In January, I tried a new fish--Pollack. Not to different from other white fish--thicker and more firm. I broiled it with a homemade spicy sauce. The sauce contained the spice Tumeric-which is also new to me. I've only used it in 2 meals now, but I like it.
Expanding the list of what I do eat, keeps me from boredom and falling in the trap of eating poorly, because it's convenient.
