Pounds Gained

After having lost five pounds in recent weeks, I've now gained back three of those pounds. Ugh. I guess that's what comes form a week of little exercise, pizza, and caramel popcorn.

Time for a renewed focus on weight loss.

    You need to get a little "OCD" about data collection and entry (I love collecting data and entering it...then graphing trends through time as the time series gets longer, looking for patterns, cycles, and statistical trends...but I digress). Even if you don't enter it at the time it's consumed, you can still enter it at the earliest convenience. Or ahead of time (I log my lunch, which is pretty consistent from day to day, before I leave for work in the morning). I also save common food items in my "Favorites" so I can enter them relatively easy and with no more fuss than checking a text message or email on my cell...which is probably what everyone thinks I'm doing anyway.

    The same with me.... I know what works - I keep saying that. I just need to log the food. Sometimes it gets so tedious. My downfall is when I'm in a social situation and I just don't want to whip out the phone to record what I've eaten. I just want to sit and talk and laugh and be carefree. Unfortunately that can't happen, and I need to get real about recording everything.
