Really Winchell's!??

Saturday, February 02, 2013

I don't eat donuts.
I've been logging my food in journals since my college days.
After logging 4 donuts during an 8 hour work shift and nothing else, I told myself I've eaten my last donut.
This was back in '09.
The boyfriend still eats them and every now and then he'll apologetically bring a box of leftover donuts home from work.
He doesn't need to apologize, I have no craving for them.
I'm not going to ask him to stop eating them either, I'm not that kind of girlfriend.
Today, however, the box he brought home made me say really Winchell's!??

I salute all of you that can just cut out a food, never to be tasted again. I am in awe.......
I'm a complete sucker for the take away approach - tell me I can't have it and I get a craving so bad it does more damage than just letting me have a little now and then.

I can and do choose to curtail some foods if I have to acknowledge the nutrition counts and it's over budget, but I can't just say never again. Good for all of you!

That is very impressive;no donuts for over three years now! It's interesting after awhile, if we stop eating those things we used to crave, we no longer crave them!

I've never heard of this Winchell's? I'm in a smaller area so we only have non-chain donut shops or you can buy them fresh at the grocery store. Lucky for me they aren't a food that I actually love that much. I'm much more into savory snacks than sweet snacks.

With a donut in each hand, anything is possible. Except losing weight! (Guess they forgot to add that last part huh?) Way to go resisting those diet busting sugar bombs. I don't think I could- I love donuts!

Double fisted donuts?? Amazing. Here in Canada it's the Tim Hortons donut franchise which is practically a religious insitution . . .

I decided quite a few years ago, at 230 pounds, after eating 6!! that I "don't do donuts". And: I don't. Now they taste greasy and rancid: I've even been known to spit out a bite . . .

I haven't eaten a donut in so many years !!! All grease & sugar would send me to the moon with tummy pain. My hubby & son eat them . My hubby shouldn't either but I won't say anything I know they love them.

I don't miss them, either. Sugar, fat, glaze. Three major good groups that I can do without!

Hmmmm.... for sure!!! Awesome that you are not tempted by them, I worked in a bakery years ago but, unfortunately, I still love them. I just eat them rarely on a very special occasion... and never 1 in each hand ..winchells :) !!
