hiding 100 calories

Friday, February 01, 2013

emoticon I found 100 calories today. They were hiding in my breakfast cereal. emoticon

Last month, I decided to make Bircher Muesli. This lifted my breakfast meal by just over 100 calories. I didn't think anything of it, as I was only going to be eating the Bircher Muesli for a few days while it lasted, and I kept within my calorie range over the day.

Then today, I decided to have some Kellogg's SpecialK Original. I knew this was going to be more calories than the Allbran that I usually eat for breakfast. But looking at the serving size I found that I had only been entering a quarter of a cup. For a while I was having some Allbran together with Weatbix. I had been copying the breakfast meal from one day to another, and forgot to up the Allbran serving size when I stopped having Wheatbix. emoticon

100 calories may not seem much over the day with a range of 1,200 - 1,550, but it is a snack's worth to me, and I have been eating at the high end of my range. So we'll see what 700 calories less over the week makes over the coming weeks. emoticon

Great catch. And a lesson for all to review our previous entries that we carry forward. Thanks for sharing.
