MRI Results Are In...

Friday, February 01, 2013

I have "chondromalacia patella". My Doctor said this isn't an "ideal" thing to have - he was hoping it was tendonitis. He said it is what Chase Utley (Phillies) has and it can take a long time to heal. I looked it up - it's common with running.

He is sending me to a Sports Orthopaedic Dr - I have an appointment Monday morning. He is the best one in Delaware - must have had a cancellation!

So, I may get a shot, have to do PT or both.

Thank you so much for all your concern - you are all so sweet!

In the meantime, I will be cheering for the RAVENS!! Go Joe Flacco!! (football trivia: Joe Flacco was the quarterback for Univ of Delaware - my alma mater)

Have a great weekend!

Well, now you know and I know. I didn't read the titles of your blogs before posting.

Listen to what you are told. I know you will work hard, but don't overwork yourself.

    The Ravens won!

So sorry to hear about your knee but you sure got lucky getting that appointment so soon! Where is he, at Christiana? A lot of the people from our church go there because it's so close and such a good hospital. Hope you get good news and you get well really fast!

It's nice that at least those are surgery-free options. Your PT might also be able to offer some exercises (maybe pool running? i dunno) that will make your move back to running easier later.

    Hang in there!

Oh! Sorry! Follow MD's orders so you don't end up not being able to run at all! When I had to do PT they worked me hard and I counted it as ST! Glad you got in to see a good doc and so soon! Yay you! Guess I'll cheer on the Ravens too even though I am not a real fan of either team! Take it easy. check out your local Y for water exercise... My ortho doc was totally for it when I broke my leg so badly and he was impressed at how much muscle tone I maintained as a result. Wishing you well & Go Ravens!!

emoticon to hear this. Sounds like you'll need a good dose of patience on this one. Be careful not to push yourself too quickly. You want to preserve those knees for future HM.
emoticon on getting the specialist appointment so quickly and the best. All the best in your recovery.
