The best dinner this year!

The best dinner I've had all year started with these little jewels:

Sweet mini peppers! Our local Fry's grocery (a Kroger store) had these 2 pound bags of mini peppers on sale for $2.99. The first night, I just sliced them, de-seeded, and then grilled them - along with turkey tenderloin and brown rice.

The really outstanding dinner was a few nights later when I grilled these peppers, along with grilling a sliced onion and some marinated chicken breast - for fajitas! Oh man, where they good. Used Xtreme wraps, and a litle shredded cheese (my mouth is watering just talking about them again.) They were supremely delish!

Went back to Fry's the next day, and they still had them in stock and they were still on sale. Don't know if this is a regional produce item, but if you like peppers and can find some of these jewels - I highly recommend them.

(I must say it is a little bit crazy that I am so nuts over these peppers, as I HATE green peppers. Yuck! Hold it on pizza, omelets, and everything. I used to make stuffed peppers for my husband, as long as it was a day where we could open all the windows to get rid of the smell. Plus my dog and I would take a long walk while they were cooking - just to get away from the awful smell.)

    Kathy, your fajitas definitely sound great! I have seen, on occasion, these mini peppers and I will try them when I see them again. I love peppers - but especially the red ones - they always taste sweet to me and I will eat them when preparing them in meals. I like the orange and yellow ones too!

    Mmm, your fajita's sound so yummy, it makes my mouth water, just reading about them! ha! I'll have to look for those peppers. As far as green peppers cooking, Mmm. We're all different, aren't we?! I will say though that I can't stand them raw, but have to have them good and cooked and then yum. Cooking takes the strong bitter part away I think. Sooo healthy. emoticon emoticon

    Oh yes, yes, yes. I eat these little gems of goodness RIGHT out of the bag. I also dip them in some hummus. Yummeh! I have GOT to try them grilled. Sounds so delish! Thank you for the recommendation.
