I feel like I'm ending the week on a good note. I've bounced back from last week's excess and am working my streaks. I have a plan for the weekend. I still need more sleep but that is slowly getting better. And I've noticed my pants are starting to fit better.
I've been down about not losing weight as fast as the numbers suggest I should. I have possible explanations for why it's not kicking in, and they are all plausible and can be addressed. But mostly it's because I have a certain idea in my head about how fast I should be losing. Factor in all the challenges I've been through over the past couple years, my advancing age and history of wide weight fluctuations, and it shouldn't be surprising that my metabolism has changed.
What's more, if I didn't have stretch goals laid out before me, I'd be ok with losing a pound every week. Consistency is the key, after all. Seeing the number on my start page creep up is helping. I'm now at a total of 7 lbs lost in 6 weeks. And I'm due for a bigger drop in the next couple weeks (I've added swimming and gotten past Flo's visit).
More important, I'm starting to feel my energy level creep back up. If I continue to stick with things, that will get better, and isn't feeling better the ultimate goal?
