I spent 3 hours yesterday in the eye doctorís office & then when I came out, I couldn't even see, thanks to my eyes being dilated. I couldn't work on taxes or even see to complete my sparking. It makes me appreciate my eyes even more & the things that I see. So Iíve decide to spending my next 5 blogs to our senses. The first one I will write about is the sense of sight.
The sense of sight: I thought about it last night about how much I would have to give up if I couldn't see, my jobs, driving, seeing my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, spouse & all the colors of the world. I think most of us take for granted our senses until we face the fact of losing them. Now at times when I look around my house, I wish I couldnít see that sink of dirty dishes, beds needing to be made, clothes needing to be washed or just the general cleaning of a house. But then I thought how sad it would be if I could never see my house again, the outdated paneling on some of the walls, even the outdated kitchen! So if you havenít had your eyes or your childrenís eyes checked recently, I beg you to find a way to do it. I know these may cost money but sometimes if you check around you can find places that will do them free or for a lower cost. Some disease can be treated if caught early, esp. in young children & some you end up losing your eye sight. If babiesí eyes are not corrected for some things by six months old, they may never be able to be corrected. So take a moment to think about how your life or your childís life would be differently if you or they couldnít see.
