Here is a reason for me to celebrate: I have passed the month of January without rolling over any exercise on my to-do list. Meaning I have done all my scheduled workouts this month instead of saying “I will just add that to tomorrow’s workout”. It’s a wonderful feeling, I can assure you! And my body is finally thanking me!
And here’s more news… my streak of walking a 5k every day? I have completed 31 of 33 days that I have walked a full 5k. Today will not be a 5k, the weather is still yucky and my ears have been hurting, so I will ride the bike instead. Some days I did throw in some light jogging as I find it is easier to shadowbox when jogging (otherwise I look like the “Bird Man” who lives downtown and attacks cars when they are stopped at red lights!). HAHA! So on this first day of February I have been successful in keeping my streak going. I did concede on 2 days and decided against walking, but I had wonderful reasons both days. And some days I actually walked 4 miles instead of stopping.
So I am doing a happy dance with a burnt finger – burned it taking roast out of the oven last night (if you know me at all, you know there is always an injury every day). It was time for me to eat red meat, so I cooked for the past 2 days. Will be back on salad again tonight, but needed that protein and iron badly and I do feel much better for it. Plus, I like to cook and since I was all set for the baking of bread, it would have been a waste to divert my mojo from the oven! And the first batch of sourdough bread didn’t rise and it was a hockey puck, but the inside was great!
Hope you all have your own little “personal” streaks that you like to play with as they do sometimes keep you going. I know I have enjoyed mine, even though some days had me cussing the last mile! As long as I am not cussing the FIRST mile I know I can finish!
