Cycling in January - wow!

It's been a great week! I started commuting by bike again. It's hard to believe I was able to do this in January. (I'm grateful for the mild weather; I just hope our local dry-land farmers' fields will have enough moisture come summer.)

I must have a car available at work, so I leave my car at work & ride my bike. I'm starting slowly to give my body time to adjust. I rode home from work Tuesday, into work on Wednesday, home from work on Thursday, and then into work today. It doesn't seem like much, but it gave me the chance to ride four times this week.

I'm working to keep my iliotibial band happy this year. I bought a foam roller. It hurts like the dickens, but it sure does help loosen that sucker. Nothing's sadder than having "runner's knee" keep me off my bike.

    Bike commuter, woot! *high five* Yeah, having runner's knee keep you off your bike is tragic. I had that happen last year...pardon the pun, but it was lame. Ride on! emoticon

    Sounds great. We had a few nice days in January for riding to work but not enough to do it consistently. Sounds like you've got a good plan.
