STUCK

I lost 40 pounds and am now at a standstill. As of today I plan to start my lifestyle changes as if it is my first day....measuring, weighing, tracking, and exercising. I am moving forward with a positive attitude. WOO-HOO! I will keep you posted of my continuing journey.

    Congratulations on your progress so far. That's awesome. Don't get discouraged because you're stuck. From everything I've read if you just continue what you're doing you'll start losing again. It's like your body tries to play a Jedi mind trick on you. It will try to slow down your metabolism to compensate for the calorie deficit. You just have to wait it out. When your body realizes that you're in for the long haul ad you're not going to change your metabolism will kick back into gear and start burning off those calories again. Hang in there.

    Spark has some great articles for busting through plateaus. Go to "Articles and Videos" and click on nutrition or fitness articles.They both have sections for dealing with pitfalls and plateaus.
    We all go through it. I hovered around 210 for the LONGEST time....And finally broke through. If I can do it, pushing 60 with arthritic joints, I know you can too! And you have a positive attitude - You go, girl! Blessings on your journey to a healthy lifestyle!
