Whew, January was a hard month for me.
Or, not really for me, but for other folks - which causes me MUCH more worry/anxiety/stress than I would feel if I were having my own problems.
It's a control thing, I understand this: I just wish my unconscious did!
I even took a half-day off work yesterday, just to decompress. So I went to the gym to lift heavy, and bested my deadlift at 3x6x120#. Trying to get back to 200# on the squats, but I'll take 3x190#. Woop.
Today, February 1st, has already been something of a good re-boot to the year. Had an AWESOME cycling class this morning - all bikes full at 6am! We are training for our Big Ride annual cycling fundraiser, and this week we did "loops," working back and forth between seated sprints and standing climbs. It's a booty buster, that's for sure.
Can you believe people THANK me for that?!
That class is so great, and it's grown from a few people per week to the prospect of turning people away for lack of space! The regular attendees have gained a lot of technique, skills and endurance over the past year and a half; it's cool to see a group start from (nearly) novice level and improve to one of the best classes I see in a week of teaching, form-wise.
Also - the office bully is leaving for another agency!
Good luck to the folks who'll be dealing with his temper tantrums.
Also also - yoga in-service has been going swimmingly - and I'm picking up some individual sessions with friends who want personal instruction or who have physical limitations which make traditional classes tough to manage. Yay.
Hope you're making this month and year a great one.
