Too Cold!

Friday, February 01, 2013

Mark your calendar boys and girls – it was TOO COLD for Tazzy to walk this am! On Fridays (my late day for work), I get up at 5 and walk her early. Well, just like normal today I got up. I let both girls out to do their thing in the yard while I got dressed. I let them in. Then instead of going to the leashes to get harnessed up to go, Tazzy went to lay by the radiator. She absolutely refused to move!!!

If it was too cold for her, it’s too cold for me. I did, however, run in place in the bathroom for about 15 minutes. So I got some movement this am. I am proud of myself for not just going back to bed. I didn’t have the healthiest breakfast so calories are going to be a problem today - the price of being up early while the rest of the house was sleeping – evil peanut butter!

So, no loss on the week but it is February 1st. I’ve dismissed January as a “learning experience” and I’m moving forward. I will get my 10,000 steps per day. I will do my ST. I will stretch every day. I will stay in calories range.

I am an amazing, unique woman with the potential to achieve all of my visions. That has to be true – the girl in the mirror said so!

That is so awesome! Here's to our visions that will come true and the fun ones we aim for. I have a King Charles Spaniel I inherited from a caring owner. My dog is so uppity that he will literally stop walking, when he's done doing his business (which is pretty fast); then, he'll park his rear while I keep walking like an idiot until the leash reaches the end and give me the, "Are you crazy? It's below freezing. I'm not going anywhere." look. Once he totally faked limped, so I would take him home and carry him up the stairs. He got me once.

I'm not a big fan of the cold. Good job on the 15 minutes of running in place. 15 minutes better than nothing.

I'm with you PAWS. It is weeks like this when we can't even get out of the teens when I really regret not following through immigrating to Australia when I got out of the service and drinking away my plane fair to Brisbane.

Wow, it must have really been cold in order for Tazzy not to want to go for a walk / run! I didn't think anything would stop Tazzy from wanting to go with you for a walk / run.

Meh, January was an okay month for me. I'm focusing on this month though.

Yes, you are an amazing, unique woman with the potential to achieve all of your visions! emoticon

You are an amazing woman!!! I also like your 4 goals, those are some awesome goals. I used to only be able to get 4000 steps in a day. Now I get between 7,000 and 14,000 a day, depending on how my day goes. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Tazzy is one smart pup!!! Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog barely took the time to do his biz and marched up to his bed, strategically placed by the heat register also! These guys know what they're doing, don't they! HUGS

Here's to February.

What!?! Too cold for the Taz? I believe it! It is freezing cold down here in VA, so gotta be cold up your way! But, too cold for Tazzy? Now, that is just frigid! The girl in the mirror would not lie to you! Learning experiences happen to teach us lessons! Move on now! Always, progress, NOT perfection!

My dogs are like that too, when it's cold they go to the door, then turn right around and go back to bed, saying "I can wait a bit". I guess I don't blame them.
Have a great day, and a great February !!

We had a "pet warning" the last couple of days... the weatherman said not to take our dogs for long walks. My definition of long is probably different from theirs. Cooper still wanted to go out. He just wanted to come back in pretty quick!

Bless that sweet dog. It must have been extremely cold for her not to want to go out. I've read your blogs enough to know how she loves your walks.

Sometimes those "dismissed" moments in time are just the break out bodies needed to push a major change. No matter what you did or could have done - there just might have been no way of changing that.

And I love the positive affirmations you told yourself. Great job!

In our left hand we hold our past which we have no control over. In our right hand we hold our future which we can influence but still cannot control. We bring the two hands together over the heart and we are in the present moment! The only true moment to live!

Yes you can achieve your goals. I also consider January to be a learning experience and decide to focus on how I can improve instead of beating myself up
