Iím eating what?!?
If someone had told me on 12/31 that by the end of January I would be eating oatmeal for breakfast on a regular basis I would have looked at them as if they had lost their ever loving mind! For the past 20+ years I have been avoiding eating oatmeal like it is the plague. I mean come on, the texture the taste the smell. Must have had some really bad experience with it to avoid it like that.

Now look at me. Not only am I eating oatmeal, I am cooking it with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Wth?!?! Not quite sure what happened. Maybe it was some sort of out-of-body experience that caused this drastic shift. A full moon maybe. I dunno. Started with old fashioned oats and this morning had my first steel cut oats. Amazing! I really like them! Add some cinnamon, pinch of salt, vanilla, raisins, and diced apple at the end. yummy! Who knew?!

    When it gets hot, I found a recipe for putting rolled oats, almond milk, fruit and nuts in a bowl, put in the fridge and enjoy it as is, the next morning. I never thought that I would even try something like that, but wow it is good!

    For me we had it a lot as kids so it gets a bit blah...I started eating it a while back every single day and eventually couldn't take it. I just started back to eating it again, with raisins, dates, walnuts. Filling and taste good. Keep at it

    That does sound good. I too hated oatmeal and it took me 3 or 4 times trying to like it before I figured out how to make it so I can eat it. It can't be soggy or sticky. Though I like to smash a banana into unsweetened cinnamon oatmeal it so there are little chunks in it. Little chunks of almonds are good too. Even then I sometimes get sick of it, or I get to where my brain says "Ehhh. That's enough" and I don't finish it. So I make 1/3 cup portions at the most now.

    Good for you! I love my old fashioned oats it's what I have ERRday! Well about 5-6 days a week. I still have to work on getting rid of the splenda but I put apples cinnamon raisins or other days I mash a banana up in it with walnuts! YUM!

    Yikes! My guess is a full moon! Or you need to give me whatever your taking! Oatmeal is horrific. The texture kills me!!! I gag when the BF makes it for his breakfast.
