Wonderful when your children grow up

Friday, February 01, 2013

Good Morning; My DD called me up yesterday and asked about her grandmother. She said that it has been a long time since she last saw her. she wants her to see Adrienne. I was speechless b/c seeing our relatives have not been in her priorities. she says that it has been a long time. Well I told DH and he wants to organize a trip to see Grandma. Just talked with DD this morning and everything is a go. Now we have to talk to with Grandma. We are not planning a trip immediately b/c tickets are too high. We are going to coordinate everyone's schedule and go. We are very tickled that DD has come around. she was always too busy or this or that. Her friends were always more important that relatives since they are over 1200 miles away. emoticon I always knew what we instilled in her would resurface.
Family is important. emoticon have a good day!! Life is good!!

It is so great to hear that she has come around to making time for her Grandmother. It is hard at times, but children do finally learn the lessons that we, parents try to teach. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Funny how that happens as they get a little bit older (or become parents themselves). Some of what we thought was lost on them starts bubbling to the surface.

That's just proves that you taught her well. It's a growing experience and the older generation holds the key to the family genealogy. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

great news, I always tried to instill in our son how very important family is, in fact when there is nothing else, I always say family is there, although I know it is not like that always, with all families anyway, I blame my daughter-in-law for the fact that family starts with our son and his wife and their children and grandson. strange, but he seems to go along with the program, so, I know I can not blame her entirely, he was not raised like that, and she was raised by grandparents,
but anyway, hope your visit is memorable for everyone. Hugs

emoticon They DO grow up . . . eventually. That's wonderful n ews.

COLD here, so just staying indoors.

John arrived back in AK last night. Going to MO (Ft. Leonard Wood) on Monday for more training. No idea how long, but whatever. At least it will be another break from the horrid Alaskan temps (not that they're any picnic nere either, but less harsh!)

Hoping DS's GF is doing better.
