Hi all!! It's been a while since I was last super active on Spark!! I made a small attempt a while ago, but it just didn't happen. I'm almost back at work full time so I should be able to be better about it now. (I went back two days this week and will be back full time next week.)
I did start Zumba again on 1/15 which was great. It amazes me how quickly my fitness level dropped and also how much I needed to get back to working out! I felt so great after my first class! I went every Tuesday and Thursday since then, with the exception on this last Tuesday which was my first day back at work and I missed my little punkin so much!! There was NO way I wasn't going to hang out with her all night long. I went again last night because I had the day off and I felt great! It was still much more difficult than it used to be but I felt good. I think it might be my last night of Zumba for a while though. The thought of being gone all day then being gone for 1.5 hours for Zumba at night kills me! I'm sure I'll be able to get back to that spot in my head where I'll be able to do that someday, but for now, I just want to spend the evenings at home with my punkin!!
Yes, I turned into that lady who can't spend a minute away from her baby unless necessary. Who knew that'd happen?!?!?
Anyhow, speaking of going back to work, I jumped right back into my routine (a slightly switched up routine, but a routine nonetheless) when I got to work. On top of all of my other bags I have to pack these days (diaper bag, pumping bag, frozen milk cooler, cooler to keep the fresh pumped milk in, etc.) I packed my gym bag Tuesday morning too. When my lunch break came, I went to the cafeteria, got a salad, and then hit the gym! I had to cut the time down a little because I am also pumping at work three times a day so I can't take all my break time at once anymore and I don't want to stay at work late to make up for any extra time because I want to get home to my baby. Before I used to do an hour and a half lunch and get super good workouts in. Now, I have to take a morning and afternoon break to pump so I only have an hour lunch, when I also need to pump. BUT, that being said, I still did it!! 25 minutes on the elliptical BOTH Tuesday and Wednesday!!
I've already been thinking of ways to maximize the time I can spend in the gym at lunch. I'll only have about 30 minutes total to work out (including a warm up and coold down) so I think the best approach will be to do 3 days of ST and 2 days of cardio one week, then 2 days of ST and 3 days of cardio the next, since I can't do both anymore. I just need to plan out the ST workouts now or I know I won't do them!!
And just a side note. . . My little punkin is now 12 weeks old!! I can't believe how quickly it went!!
