I am commiting to evaluating my progress with my resolutions. I admit that in the past I make resolutions and usually by February I have forgotten about them or completely given up. This year I am going to change that cycle. No I did not completely change in January. I actually had a lot of failures. However, I also have had some successes.
My resolutions for the year/Accomplishments/Areas to work on:
1. Develop a closer relationship with God.
I did spend more time with God. However, in the middle of the month, I let the busyness of life distract me. I need to make this a priority and be more adament about making time for God.
2. Lose weight, exercise regularly, eat healthier.
Once again, I started off good but let life get in the way. However, this week I have found an exercise program that is exciting. I did lose 1 pound in January so I consider that a slight success. However, I could have lost more and I could definitely have eaten healthier to encourage this change in lifestyle.
3. Organize my home and life.
This area has probably been my greatest success so far. I have an adjustable schedule that seems to be working. I need to get the family more on-board but it works.
4. End the year in a better financial situation.
Not much to report in this area. Our biggest thing to begin with this will be our tax return and what we plan to do with it.
5. Help Kathryn and William act more responsibly.
This is my greatest struggle. Kathryn wants to be more responsible and is slowly working towards that. William is struggling big time-at home and at school. I am trying to work with him without discouraging him.
So overall, I am not hopelessly discouraged about January but I have a realistic take on how it went. No great successes but yet no great failures that can't be corrected.
