Ok, so this morning I turn on my computer and the first story to jump out at me is this: BURGER KING ADMITS THAT BURGERS HAVE BEEN TAINTED WITH HORSEMEAT! So the story goes on to say that this all occurred in the UK and Ireland (well, that doesn't make me feel much better since my baby studied abroad in Ireland last summer and I specifically told her to run to BK!). Bad, bad Mommie!
Every day we hear, we see reports of some things not right with the food that we're eating away from our own kitchens. We use the excuses that "we're too tired to cook", "we're too busy to cook", but wouldn't you much rather get past your "tired" and your "busy" to put healthy, clean food into the bodies of your family? Your children? Your spouse? YOU??? The only sure way to ENSURE that we're eating only the best (and not somebody's pet) is to prepare what we eat at home, in our own kitchens (if you like cooking outside or in the garage, or the attic, that's fine, too. Just so long as your hands are doing the preparing).
Now, my daughter is a horse owner and I am offended at the thought that we could possibly ever have noshed on horse meat. (insert puke moment here). I say this to say.....save yourselves....STAY AWAY FROM THE FAST FOOD JOINTS, AND the high end restaurants (they have their own dirt going on as well...trust me!). Keep the ones that you love most HEALTHY and above all else, SAFE!
Now if this doesn't stop you from eating out.....I GUESS NOTHING WILL!
