Fitbit Almost Went into The Wash

Friday, February 01, 2013

It's great that the Fitbit is so non-obtrusive, but the downside is that it's easy to forget it's there. I was falling asleep last night when I suddenly realized that I'd put my bra into the hamper to be washed today. I had to spring out of bed to retrieve the Fitbit that was still attached! Yikes! If it goes the way of the washing machine, there will be no replacing it. So it's something to put on the "must remember" list.

Wishing all a happy day.

Been there done that. I am now in the routine of switching it from bra to flannel pants I wear before I go to bed.

I haven't washed mine, but it did get submerged for about 15 minutes. I did nothing special to it afterwards - and it worked! I would have missed it desperately until it was replaced!

I've washed my pedometer didn't play well with water. Fitbit is coming out with a monitor that you wear on your wrist in the spring...I'm sure you already know that. It looks attractive to seems to be water resistant.

That is a scary thought, for it to go in the washing machine!

I've done the same thing - left it clipped to something that's went to the laundry room. So far, I've remembered to grab it before it goes through the washer though!

    Good save.
I managed to miss that I put my travel cup in the washer, yes with my clothes. Can you imagine how long I'd last with a fitbit? Lets not think about it. I'd have to hang a reminder on my hamper or something.

If that happens make sure that you take the battery out and DO NOT TURN ON and let it air out for about 2 days.
