Silly BMI. AAAND the Color Run!

Friday, February 01, 2013

Oh, goodness. I just did a BMI calculation. I'm super short. I'll need to lose 40 more pounds just to make it into the "overweight" category. Thaaaaat's depressing. And according to the calculator, I'll need to lose ten (no, eleven!) pounds more than my original goal to be considered "normal" or whatever.

Well, I guess that doesn't change anything in terms of what I'm doing. Speaking of what I'm doing, I started c25k again. I finished it once, but I'm doing it at a higher incline and speed this time. I'm doing the Color Run in Louisville with my dear sister. I'm SO excited! I think I'm going to try to work up to a 10k next.

C25K calls! And I know if I don't get it in before work, it isn't going to happen today. Have a wonderful weekend!

I agree with John. I also am very short but if I weighed what the charts say I would look unhealthy. Best wishes! emoticon

I agree with JohnMartinMiles - they are numbers that someone thought would be a great idea. As long as you are working toward a healthy lifestyle and feeling great that's what counts!

My kids did the Color Run in KC last year. That's what motivated me to do a 5k this year. Mine is in April and it's a Mother Daughter run.

Good luck on your C25k!! You can do it!

there are exceptions to the rule. have you talked to your doctor about what a healthy weight for you is?

i am 5ft 6 and in the middle of the normal bmi range. for me, it is accurate, but that doesn't mean it is accurate for everyone. try not to to get caught up on a number.

how do you feel? that is what is important.

They say 'this' and They say 'that' .........Who are 'they' anyway? You know your body better that anyone else. I agree with John, How do YOU feel? emoticon

I think the BMI ranges were established by some anorexic who wanted company. A six foot tall man weighing 165 pounds could urn sideways, stick out his tongue and look like a zipper. Someone else's numbers are just that, someone else's numbers. The important number is on a scale of one to ten, how do you feel?

Keep On Keepin' On and

Make Today a Great Day!
