1/12 of 2013 is Done: How Am I Doing With My Goals?

Friday, February 01, 2013

Happy, happy, happy! It is February 1 and so we are closer to Spring.

I went back and read through my 2013 goals yesterday and took evaluated my progress.

Here is my self-report:

1. Get back to goal weight
I saw the scales go into the 170s late in December/early in January. [My goal weight is 150.] I have seen 164 the past two mornings, so that is progress. I have begun walking again and logging my nutrition much more specifically and I know that is helping. I also joined the BLC21 Challenge and it has really helped me to continue with these goals. [Thank you, Ivory Falcons, and all of those who help put the BLCs together.]

2. Use up/repurpose
I am pleased with my progress thus far. I am using up Xmas fabric that I have had for at least a decade to make Xmas fabric potholders to use for Xmas gift packages Christmas 2013. I have completed 5?6? and have the same number to complete the binding. I still have fabric, though...and so I will continue with this project.

I have completed two of the little girls' ponchos with Homespun yarn that the free Lion Brand pattern recommended. I did one that is the smaller size [9-12 months] and one that is the larger size [2-3 years]. Crocheting is therapeutic for me and my self-imposed three rows per day is not aggravating my tendonitis at all. I still have more Homespun left from other projects, so there will be more ponchos.

3. More fruits/veggies
I have begun to include a cutie at breakfast, and on days that I work it is really easy to include a serving of prunes. I know a lot of people don't like prunes, and I didn't for a long time, but they are easy to purchase and keep fresh in the big containers and easy for me to pack for my lunch. I have had five or more freggies each day, so that is better than I was doing at the end of 2012.

So this is my progress thus far. The UFO quilts are not done, but my Xmas fabric potholders WILL be ending at some point this year, so that will be my next project on Goal #2.

Another prune lover checking in. They were mandatory on our dinner list at school dinners Noon time in England and we loved them.

That was where I learned the Dittie TINKER, TAILOR. SOLDIER, SAILOR, RICH-MAN, POOR-MAN, BEGGAR- MAN OR THIEF.

PRUNES ALWAYS HAD PITS IN THEM SO WE LINED THEM UP AND EACH PIT WAS COUNTED TO PREDICT WHAT KIND OF MAN WE WOULD MARRY .

NEED I SAY, I WENT TO A GIRLS ONLY SCHOOL PAT IN MAINE.

YOUR GOALS LOOK GOOD. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Tammy, great progress! You are inspiring me to put some goals in writing. emoticon

I like prunes too - easy to store! Most of my sewing and glass projects have to wait until after we move, but I've returned to knitting and have one scarf finished and one to go. It keeps my hands busy.

So glad you're enjoying the BLC and the Ivory Falcons.
