January 2013 Recap

I weighed 203.4 pounds on January 1st. On January 31st my weight was 198.0 for a loss of 5.4 pounds! My total weight loss since starting this journey is now 57 pounds! I am now in ONEderland and am dedicated to never going back to the 200s. I am 1 pound away from becoming overweight and out of the obese BMI category!!!!

I'm doing pretty good on my other goals as well. I'd give myself a B+ because there are some areas that still need work... like the yard. I like to be outside, sometimes, but I really am not a gardener and weeding is probably my least favorite chore ever. There are bugs and dirt out there, yuck! And I am not even a girly girl!

I tried on my petite size 16 jeans that have been too small in the waist for about 11 years now, and I CAN WEAR THEM! I wore them out to dinner and was still able to eat my food, and breathe =) Success!

I am doing very well on getting 10,000 steps per day in. Out of the 31 days of January I managed to get 10,000+ on 25 days! The other 6 days were 5,000+ days. Every day of January has at least 1 shiny foil star sticker on it. Woohoo! *That is my daily reward for each 5,000 steps I accrue)

So for February I will continue working towards my goals that I set for this year. Especially working on getting in my steps and I really do need to be more consistent with adding in strength training. I know I need that to firm my body up and it's just healthy. I guess I should work on getting the weeding done too /grumble.

Special thanks to my Biggest Loser Team, Emerald and my wonderful SparkFriends who keep me pushing forward, and are such an encouragement! It's been a blessing finding my place here on Spark and so very helpful. Looking forward to starting a new 5% challenge too, hopefully in February. Can't wait to see which team I end up on!
