Well, February 1st is finally here! I am proud to say that I fulfilled most of my goals for the month of January. My exercise streak (started just before the end of 2012) is now at 34 day! The Insanity program has been my go to choice for exercise for January and I'm thrilled that I have faithfully followed it for 31 consecutive days! emoticon I'm currently in the Recovery Week period (loving the dvd for this week!) and I'm looking forward to the start of month two next week. Also, I will for the final time count my days as being a non-smoker (31!!!); and, from here on in, I will only be counting the months!

I was thrilled (and disappointed) to step on the scale this morning. When I began Insanity, I gained 4 lbs. I'm thrilled to say that I lost the 4lbs gained but a little frustrated that I am right back where I began with the weight. emoticon Of course, I know it will start dropping now but I was really hoping to at least have 5 lbs gone from my starting weight by the end of January. I will spend some time this weekend re-assessing my calories in and calories out to see and make adjustments as needed. I do know that I need to firm up my eating habits a bit more. I'm trying to keep to healthy foods 80% of the time and I'm doing ok but I think I can still tweak my nutrition goals a bit.

I did have some successes with the Insanity program in January. I lost a total of 6" overall in January! 2.5" on my hips alone!!! Here are my losses broken down by area:

Waist 1.5" loss
Hips 2.5" loss
Thigh 1" loss
Upper Arm .5" loss
Thigh .5" loss

So, all in all, I'd have to say I'm pretty happy with my progress in January. I know I will have many more successes in February! I just have to emoticon
