Gluten Free Super Bowl menu

Friday, February 01, 2013

Since my extended family is not gluten free, I need a menu plan that will satisfy everyone.

My ideas:

Chili - I've started making my own chili spice mix.
Brown rice noodles or perhaps corn noodles.
All the fixings - cheese, onion, sour cream.... what else should I offer?
Gluten free corn bread - this will be a first for me.

Dessert? My sil may be bringing a "decadent" cake for my Dad's birthday which just so happens to be gf! Maybe I should attempt my own? We'll see how I do on time.

What are you serving for Super Bowl Sunday?

Looks like pot roast is on the menu... Yum!

What about chili topped baked potatoes? Very carby but I think glutton free. I love the avocado idea as chili topping.

They do make gluten free pasta if you want to offer that option.

I may slow oven roast some ribs and chicken and round it out with steamed veggies. A taco feast is also under consideration. Need to figure it out tonight.

Top the chili with corn chips, avocado, as well as the ones that you have already listed.

We don't really do anything for the superbowl. I may make chili since we have everything on hand. I've read in the past that pizza and chili are the most common options that day. emoticon

Great question, I hope lots of people chime in. We'll have guacamole - love those avocados! Maybe with blue corn chips. Definitely something with meat (lots of it!). To be continued.
