Tomorrow I will be doing my personal 28 day challenge.

Thursday, January 31, 2013

I am using the very first challenge I did on Spark. It feels like I am beginning again and this might just get my motivation back.

I hope so. I am finding it hard to get to the exercises, I feel like I am taking too much time on my writing instead of exercising.
My first priority is keeping DH in good spirits. We have few visitors of late since some are snow birds and others are working and the weather after work is dark and dreary so we have little company.
We rarely watch TV but we do find Netflix is a good way to be together.

We watched a fabulous historical BBC production yesterday and we were so motivated to look it up and we were surprised at the authenticity. We took it out of the envelope and watched it again today.

It was great DH had looked it up on the internet and searched the people depicted it was a real nice day with a common interest for the whole day.
The Movie is called the Duchess the costumes and the houses were amazing. We are trying to remember which houses they were so we can look them up tomorrow. Just maybe some day we will check them out for real in England that would be nice.

I am still trying to get to bed earlier I did sleep 9 hours last night but getting up so late it meant half of my morning was lost.
I am off to my bed now too. Pat in Maine.

Hope you and Fred had a wonderful day on his Birthday...... HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to you Fred.

How was your first day of The Challenge? Hope the weather is warming up for you and the freezing rain has gone.....

It has warmed up here a bit. Far nicer than the minus 25 to 30 celcius we've been having. Of course, we had to get more snow again, but it could be worse. Only snowed a couple of hours at a time.

All the best to you, dear friend.

Sounds like a great documentary. We love history so will check this out.

We are home from St. Louis. Sis was moved out of ICU today - hooray and making progress. We are so thankful and grateful as it sure could have been worse.

Take care and I send my love.

It is so good to hear you sounding so wonderful again. The fact that DH is doing so well is an added plus. You have a plan and I know you will stick to it. After all you've done, you've shown how strong and determined a person you are. Hope you and DH have a fantastic weekend.

hugs...Mary Anne

Hi Pat, Early to bed, early to rise, makes a person healthy, wealthy, and wise!!! Was that from Ben Franklin? Can't remember. :( When I had to switch my daughter's sleeping habits around when she was a baby I did it in 15 minute increments. Each night I would put her to bed 15 minutes earlier then the night before. This worked until she would get sick and then sleep got all messed up and I would have to start again. Just a thought. HUGS, Terry

emoticon emoticon I am confident that you will have a successful month.

It is 50* here in Jacksonville, Florida. We could see a man-made lake from the breakfast room of our hotel. It was so relaxing to watch the ducks. There weren't very many but they seemed happy. A couple of cardinals came to a tree near the window. It is fun watching birds. We are going out to do a bit of exploring but not much as we are still tired from the long drive to get here. Ted is experiencing a bit of stomach discomfort and doesn't want to be far from a bathroom. We have a lovely king-size bed. I slept really well, in spite of being so close to the Jacksonville Airport. We aren't really noticing the planes (which is a good thing).

After Saturday, I will be off-line until Thursday.

Good luck with your challenge. We all go through periods of ups and downs with our health program and motivation, good for you for recognizing the need for a shake-up and doing something to rekindle your enthusiasm for your exercise activities.

How did you make out during the big wind and rain storm? We lost our power for most of the day on Thursday, got it back long enough to make and eat supper, then it went out again until after bed-time. Things seem fine this morning, so I am catching up on the dishes and laundry that were postponed yesterday. Then I'll go to the Y and my mentor will evaluate a few of the easy (not too challenging physically) songs I've been working on for Zumba. (A couple of them are my own original choreography!!).

Have a good day!

I find that starting a challenge gives me a push that I need periodically. I hope yours does, too, my friend.

Good luck on your challenge. I began the 28-day Diabetes weight loss challenge this week, and I'm finding it a great motivator.

I had been slacking off on my exercise, but doing the challenge has gotten me started on that path again. It has been so long that I have to build up my endurance again. 2miles WATP is about all I can do right now, in addition to Nicole's 20 minute resistance band workout - I really like that one.

I'm sure you will do well on your challenge. You have been so busy lately I'm not surprised that something had to give.

Have you noticed that the days are starting to get a bit longer - spring is on its way.

Have a great day.

Good luck on your challenge, I remember the first time you did it!! I'm sure you will succeed as you usually do with everything you put your mind to. I'm going to put that movie on my list as I love the BBC productions.

Do you ever catch "Keeping up Appearances". It's older, but still one of my favorite British programs. Mrs. Bouquet is always good for a laugh. My sisters and I still invite each other to dinners when I am in their area by saying we are going to have a "candlelight dinner".

Fantastic that you got 9 hours of sleep last
