This and That

Thursday, January 31, 2013

It is February 1st here in Oz...which means it is my one month anniversary..sorta...we got married on the 1st in the technically it hasn't been a month yet..and we didn't file our marriage license til the did we get married :) Well to us we got married 11/2 years ago when we exchanged rings on a beach on Kangaroo Island committing ourselves to each other...that to me will always be our "marriage" date..but to the rest of the world, the 1st of January 2013 was.
To celebrate, we are going for our first training run that is what I call a cool anniversary celebration. My honey is not a runner..and he has a bad the fact that he is willing to "attempt" the 1/2 marathon with me means more to me than anything he could ever buy me...I know I have a couple on here that celebrated their recent anniversary by doing a half together, and other couples that share in a healthy lifestyle together..well it means so much!!!

We bought new running shoes last night..both of us...he also had to buy some running shorts...he is really gearing up for this. I am so proud. I created a schedule for us the other day..We will run/walk it. To start we will go with a 3/1 ratio and keep mileage low as official training really doesn't "need" to start until next month. We will change the running/walking ratio little by little until hopefully we will get to 9/1, that is what I like to do..but if we need to do 7/1 then I am fine with that..this event is more about us doing it together than me trying to prove anything or re-live previous events.

I am also excited because my new rebounder came in yesterday...well it is not the "official" rebounder , it is a mini tramp..I broke my last one and have been a little lost without glad to add it back into my workouts..especially now that I am training as it is really a GREAT cross training tool for running an event!

Also I am patiently waiting for a new set of pans to come in...I had a little bit of money in my paypal account from a sale I had made last year when I left America and I knew something special would come along for me to spend it on...I ordered a set of the blue stone oil needed and easy clean up. I am always cooking...I love it...and I try really hard to skimp on the oil and now I won't even need any :) and yes, I know some oil is necessary...I take Fish Oil every day and I used EVOO on my salads etc and in some of my baking so I still get in the good fats, but I feel better knowing I don't need it to stir fry etc things now :)

On yet another note..the Supreme 90 Day plan I started the other it! Granted I have only done 2 days of it but I am feeling the results of it in my muscles and know it is working...short workouts but effective..I am definitely committing to the full 90 is such a compliment to the running I will be adding in that surely by the time the run gets here I will be in shape...if not by then, at least by my birthday..that is my be in the best physical shape EVER by my 48th birthday in June. I am not as concerned with a number on the scale as I am being in a certain size of clothing and seeing some muscle definition.

And to close, this is my "go to" song for the week..I just love the beat and had to share! Have a wonderful Friday everyone:

San Diego will be my BF's first half. It has been so awesome running together! We keep each other accountable. It took me 3 years to get him running and now he loves it. Have a wonderful time training together.
