This morning I got a text message from my sister that said "I am happy to report I lost 2 lbs, lol--- nothing monumental but I'm pretty proud."
This is the first time I ever remember my sister sending me anything about her losing weight. She has completely supported and encouraged me thus far on my weight loss journey, and I was (and AM) so proud of her, as well!
Anyway-- my point being-- I am positive we have all felt this way before. Happy that we lost weight, but at the same time thinking-- "Only two lbs? I am proud of this, but will anybody else be? it really isn't anything great."
There is no doubt that my sister was SO PROUD of herself-- but compared to my 137lb weight loss, assumed that I wouldn't think it was anything great.
We, as a society, need to remember that we are all on this journey together. We need to not compare ourselves to others-- but instead, look to them as inspiration or guides (not goals). We need to be proud of the healthy lifestyle choices we are making. We need to be able to be PROUD that we lost "only two lbs."
I am THRILLED to report that this week, like my sister, lost 2 lbs! :)
Lets celebrate and enjoy this journey together!
