I lost 10 pounds and the doctor says I need new shoes!

Thursday, January 31, 2013

I have lost 10 lbs since the last time I visited the doctor! I am very HAPPY! I have 77 lbs to go and I will lose that weight!

Anyway, ive been having some leg issues and feet issues lately. The doctor starts checking out my feet and says that im big time flat footed and I need to get a pair of shoes fitted for me only to work out in. If I dont, I will keep having the muscle pulls and feet issues. She told me I cant go back on the track until next week and she gave me some meds to take. So i'm pretty happy that it wasnt anything major. Im sure I will change my mind when I go to buy my expensive new shoes tomorrow..lol.

    Congrats on your 10 lbs!

On the shoes - it may just be your feet are having a hard time transitioning to barefoot/minimalist walking and shoes. Not trying to get in your business, but alarm bells go off when I hear "its the shoes". In almost all cases, it isn't the shoes, its a biomechanical issue or doing too much too soon. You may have transitioned too quickly, which for a lot of people, results in top of foot pain.

normally i am not a big believer in needed certain gear or shoes to workout, but i have discovered that good shoes can help protect feet and ankles especially when doing plyos.

Yay! Shoes is a small fix compared to surgery or months of therapy though!
