Saying No when you really want to say Yes Please

Thursday, January 31, 2013

My favorite weakness is McDonald's and since January 1,2013 I have not had any.....YAY! But my second weakness is soft pastries.....donuts, muffins, cookies...etc

Keeping that in mind
I was walking through the store in veggie section and along the shelf side is the bread, muffin...etc section. Now one has to wonder why do they set us up like that here I am searching for my veggies and they have fresh muffins so close...smh

I walk over looking just checking out what was there and I spotted fresh soft banana could smell them through the package. I started rationalizing why I should buy them.....So I did
Thinking at first I could just have one each day for a snack(3in pack) and it wouldn't hurt. That added up tp 660 calories 100 of which were from fat alone....OUCH
So once again I re thought that and decided I could just have one and give the rest to the boys at home.
The muffins made it home and I really started thinkin for the same amount of calories I could have plenty of other things but if I put them in my work bag I could keep them have that one and nobody would know
I juxt kept going back and forth.....
Thankfully by the time I got home I had worked it out the muffins were not worth the price I would pay later
I put them in kitchen told the guys to have at it....and I didn't feel bad or deprived instead I felt overcome that I had made a choice.....not to put them in my mouth knowing they were bad for me
I know we should satisfy our cravings by adjusting the ingredients but I don't really bake and it was a test. I passed maybe not with flying colors but I passed...this time I am happy
Making the right choices is a step in right direction for me.....YAY
