Back in the trenches

It's been a bit of a manic week but I think I've done we'll under the circumstances.
Monday was my first day back in my placement school. It was so nice to see everyone again and to be back in the thick of it. It was Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Day, which meant everyone carried a book around on a sling, and whenever the bell rang during the day, we had to stop what we were doing and spend a few minutes reading. Loved it.
Tuesday was the funeral for that bloke on my course. It was all the way up in Chester and my uni organised a coach for those of us who wanted to go. I'm really glad I went, even though it meant getting up at 4 am and spending most of the day on the road. It also meant a Krispy Kreme, which is ok because I was truly hungry and it was what I wanted. I love Paul McKenna.
Wednesday I was meant to be back at uni all day but Michael Rosen (children's poet and author) was visiting my school and I decided that had to take priority. So I went to the assembly and then rushed back to uni for the rest of the day. I don't regret it, even if my tutor's mad at me. Michael was truly brilliant and I may not ever get that experience again.
Today was fairly administrative; the children had swimming so I stayed behind and attempted to get organised, and then I had training in the afternoon. The end result being that I've barely seen my class next week, nor have I had a chance to discuss a plan of action with my mentor, and I'm a bit stressed about fitting everything in.
But I haven't been comfort eating! I ate half of my lunch and will probably have the rest tomorrow. I've also been drinking water more often, in lieu of coffee/tea/Pepsi Max. I was hoping to finally conquer my fear of the gym tonight with a street dance class but I'm waiting on an important call from my supervisor so it'll have to wait.
Never fear... I have a plan, and I'm going to post it here so you can all keep me accountable. Saturday morning I'm going to drag myself out of bed to hit the treadmill by 8 o'clock (walking on a steep incline to mimic mountain hiking) and then Hatha yoga at 8:45. Please check in with me to make sure it happened.
