Already at the end of January?! Where did the time go!
Yesterday the little tyke and I had a pretty easy day. I gated off half of our basement/apartment so I could watch the recorded programs on our DVR- mostly Chopped and other Food Network shows. It was a Food Network Marathon and as much as I thought the little one would complain she had fun playing with things she is not normally around in our bedroom- as if she thought they were forbidden or something. She also enjoyed playing with me when I did step aerobics during the commercials.
I also did tons of laundry, but they did not get folded that is today's task, and I got to get another workout in after my mom got home. I thought it would be too close to bedtime causing another 3am session, but I still conked out at 9:30pm. Probably because I am getting a little sick. I was on the treadmill for 15 minutes, alternating walking and jogging and a bit to my dismay -running. I usually walk at 1.5 mph and then jog at 3.0mph but last night I cranked it up to 4.0 to see if that would be a jog too....nope definitely a run! And that meant I couldn't do it as long but man did it get my heart rate up. Holy smokes!
Today the little one and I went to a few places to prepare for the party on Saturday. I am making mini cheesecakes in cupcake liners because that is one dessert I've never seen her turn away from. In fact, if I let her I am sure the grandparents would feed her an entire piece of cheesecake- she LOVES it. The mini sizes are good portions too. We are also going to put out a bowl of cherry fruit filling, strawberry fruit filling, chocolate chips, and maybe some cans of whipped cream (which I forgot to buy-dangit!) so people can personalize their own mini cheesecakes.
The best part is I talked to the bakery and they are going to make us some edible paper with 24 images that I selected that represent my daughter- one per cupcake. So there will be a mini cheesecake with an Elmo, Elliot from Pete's dragon, a little purse, a little cell phone, stacking toys, etc. ALL things CALEY! (that's my daughter's name in case you didnt know). Very personalized and not too bad price wise either.
Hope they come out okay!
Now to tackle all the laundry I neglected yesterday.
I hope everyone has a GREAT Thursday- so close to the weekend! Keep sparking!
