My Biggest Weight Loss Fear is Being Realized!

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Today my arms felt sore from my workouts so I was touching them and I noticed they're finally started to look and feel smaller. I'm rounding out my first month and was worried because they were staying the same while I was losing inches everywhere else. I was happy to notice they they do look smaller, then I moved my arm and noticed I have wings forming. Wings are better than fat I guess, but this is my biggest weight loss fear.

I have 100+ lbs to lose so yeah, I didn't expect everything to go smoothly. I've been doing kick boxing with lots of punches in an attempt to combat the flab. My dad assures me to keep exercising and not to worry because they'll firm up over time, but it's still scary. I've been wondering if I do more arm exercise with resistance or weights if that'll help them firm faster. What if they don't at all?! Gasp!

Now I'm trying to focus on being happy that they are smaller. This weight loss thing is happening, for real, right now. Not next week or next year. I'm finally tackling it and making it a reality rather than dreaming of what'll be like after I start.

My doctor told me that it takes a year or so for your skin to bounce back after weight loss. It will bounce back, more or less, depending on your age. Give it time and see what you look like when the hard work is done. You may find that you really like the way you look when all is said and done. If not, like SHRINKING_SARA said, you can have it fixed. Some insurance plans even pay for some cosmetic stuff after weight loss!

My big arms were my worst feature hands down. I lost ~100... and I think I lost about 15 from each arm... okay it was probably only like 5# from each arm, but it looked bad... I did it though, and had a brachioplasty, so even if you do GET batwings -- A) they are a mark of how well you have done, and B) you can get them removed ;-) It's a lot harder to just get 100# removed like *zap* that.

You can do it! Don't worry about the bat wings -- you're the only one that will notice them for a good 50-70#.
