Day 13: Preparing FOOD in advanced is acting like a grown up!

I am always telling my teenagers YOU DO WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO YOU.

Ummmmm.. what message am I sending? When I don't have time to cook? When I order a pizza? When I throw away the science experiments that were the "the best of intentions" in my crisper drawer?

SO: I started CHOPPING the fruit up, and I dug up all those cute containers I have and I am making a veggie tray after work today. People EAT what is prepared and quick....that is why grapes washed and sectioned get ate but in the plastic bag will sit there.

I am doing boiled eggs too...and grilled chicken breasts in advanced. I was getting my daughters some crackers out and thought, wouldn't it be great to just open that box up, measure out servings in snack bags and stuff them back in the box? No more over eating and QUICK ways to get done. Jillian Michaels says to get your smoothie ingredients ready the night before, thrown them in the blender container, stick in fridge and in the a.m. you just need to twirl it!

I have been making losing weight and keeping track a lot harder than it ever needed to be. Take 1 hour and clean the veggies and fruit, etc...and save A LOT of time down the road.

    Planning and preparation makes all the difference- I am telling myself better to plan food in advance then be planning how I can walk a distance without getting out of breath or where I will find a seat at some function. emoticon

    You have some really great ideas here. I find when I prepare food in advance I not only eat better, I waste less food. A win/win situtation.
