Best of luck with the surgery! Knee replacement is a real mother of an operation. I won't sugar coat it, from what my mother's ortho has said, the knee replacement is one of the hardest for patients, harder than hip replacement. I'm sure your Dr. has told you all of this already.

You're a tough, determined gal and I'm sure you'll get through this. Just keep in mind the the post op pain will go away and when it's gone, your knee will feel just like it did when you were a kid!

Side note: my mom had her 2nd hip replacement on Monday and came home from the hospital yesterday so I'm back in care giver mode for a several weeks!
