My house is full of slimming books & magazines brimming over with low cal & low fat recipes. I've been toying with the idea of using these to cook all our meals so from today I did the first for me and my husband. I couldn't believe he enjoyed it I think I added more calories to mine by adding low fat (lighter) hard cheese. We are still full from it. As I'm writing this I'm hoping it wasn't to feed 4 people as we got through the whole lot. No wonder we're satisfied. So rather than struggle with other people messing up the kitchen and cooking so called gourmet meals my plan is to take charge and do the meals. I wasn't looking forward to todays choice as I've had insipid looking meals before which left me feeling as though I was missing something wholesome but todays was actually nice. I cooked a tomato sauce with half a medium red onion, 2 cloves of garlic and 180 gms of fresh asparagus added a veg stock cube and a tbsp of chilli sauce & poured that over 3 1/2 oz each of cooked pasta. And pumpkin soup from pumpkin Ieft over from last nights dinner whizzed around with a stock cube also quite nice & not laden with cream or anything else just pure veg. All these cooking programmes on tv are getting to me I reckon.
