I have less than a 1lb to go before I am no longer considered obese!
I can't believe it was just a year ago I was considered morbidly obese. What a difference a year, surgery, and lots of hard work can make.
There are so many things I can do now that I wasn't able to last year. Little things like crossing my legs, putting on my pants without sitting down, wearing high heels for longer than 5 minutes, not using my cane... I have even started the couch to 5k program. For someone who has never liked running, that is huge!
I am signed up for my first two 5Ks in May. I am considering doing some before that, but just haven't decided for sure yet. Am I nervous, yes, but I think it will be fun. One is the GS Thin Mint Sprint with my daughter and the other is the Charlotte Zombie Run. If anyone wants to run from zombies with me, let me know. You can join my team!
I have even got my hubby running with me. While it isn't always convenient for me to wait until evening to run with him, I so very much appreciate him taking an interest in this and doing it with me that I will wait for him even if it means running in the dark. We don't usually stay side by side, which is fine with me cause I like to zone out while I run, it's nice to know he's close by.
So what are my challenges for the next week or so? I need to:
~ Get to the gym on my non-running days
~ Find some better running shoes
~ Make sure I take my vitamins
~ Get enough protein
~Drink more water
~Spend less time on the computer
Thanks to everyone for checking in with me and leaving me messages and goodies. It mean so much to me and boosts my spirits. You all are great motivators! Here's a trophy for you:
