Well ladies and gentlemen, we survived the 1st month of 2013!!!! the world hasn't ended yet (that i'm aware of), Jesus hasn't returned (that i'm aware of), and the stock market is just as lousy as always. Which means...... we get to give it another go in February!
*classy pessimistically based optimism at its best right there*

For me, January was a bit of a rollercoaster in terms of health. I got sick right around New Years and started the year with a pretty nasty sinus infection thing that held on for 2 weeks. My eating habits weren't too bad, but workouts did not exist. So by mid January I had a lot of catching up to do on my fitness goals. Then I felt great for about a week, still runny nose, but I can handle that; but then I got a nasty cough--which I still have and have been battling for about a week. Put all that together and it's been tough going to reach that fitness minutes goal...... BUT i prevailed and here's how I did this month!!!

GOALS: NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS 2013
*read the bible: Since 1-1-2013, I've read through 5 books of the bible! and i'm starting book 6 today. following a plan from joyfmonline.org called "read the bible in a year". check it out if you want a reading plan. I can't seem to put it down sometimes, so i'm already into March...

*5 bucket list items this year:
1. Rock Climbing! and i made it to the top more than once! really really enjoyed this!

*1200 fitness minutes each month: this one was most difficult with being sick. Today I have to get 80 minutes in, but I know I can do this! I'm breaking it up into my breaks at work + hitting the gym after, so I should have no problem getting this in!!

OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Weight: ok, so i never took a January 1st weigh in, so I"m basing this off of 12-27-12 weigh in:
12-27-12: 175
01-31-13: 169 (-6lbs)

Strength training: I've added strength training to my weekly schedule & found a training partner from work who needs a personal trainer- so i'm training her, and using her as motivation for myself!

Personal life: I did my own taxes! Yay for divorced and STRONG! filed my taxes and my FAFSA and my housing forms for Connecticut! i'm getting nervous, but excited. it's all officially out of my hands now and I'm just praying for scholarships and housing and leaving all of that up to god. OH!!! and I found a church out there that's only a mile from my house! who's excited? this girl!!! still dating my muscle man. I love him. hope to keep him around for awhile.

Overall: it's been a pretty awesome month of blessings. Healthwise, I'm just glad I was able to reach my goals and didn't let my sickness totally ruin it. I have a weigh-in at the gym in 2 weeks to reassess from a couple of weeks ago. A trainer there wanted to monitor my BF% and see what i'm doing. I'm excited because it keeps me motivated. Hoping to lose a couple of more lbs by then, but MAIN GOAL is to get in my minutes!
