Day 3..oh yeah

Thursday, January 31, 2013

I like this. Time to suck it up and not really "finish" but definitely get back to what. I started.

Day 3 of low carb...so far so good. Now I want to make something clear, I am doing low carb because I am a BINGE eater. I lost every single pound by counting calories and exercise. It just isn't working for me anymore because once I get started I can't stop anymore. I'm really hoping this low carb thing will help me.

I still am planning an off meal. Next Friday my baby is having a friend over and we're going to order pizza. That is going to be my treat. No candy, no ice cream, no chips. Pizza is my favorite.

Today is my Friday and I'm so glad of that!

Hope you are still finding the low carb a good fit for you!! I went Paleo for the same reason - have to cut out the trigger foods all together and then I don't really have to worry about counting anything. Good Luck with your final push to your goals!

I like that idea a lot. If you think about it, we used to eat the cheat meal as a regular thing all the time, just goes to show you how far you've come! emoticon

To me - this is like an addiction - once I fall off plan - it is like a free for all and that can lasts weeks or months.

I"ve been doing low carb since day 1. Once I start with carbs, it's all carbs all the time. This has been the first week since Christmas that I've eaten well, stayed on plan and exercised. We've got this!

Yeah for day 3! I was just thinking this morning that it was time to get serious and start a low/healthy carb way of life today - again. I did it a few years ago very successfully and I felt so much better, lowered my cholesterol, etc. But after my son was born I fell into the quick food trap and undid all my good work. So it does work! I need to do it again.

I get it. Carbs are my down fall. If I start I find it VERY hard to stop.

Find what works for you. You can do it.

Just a question -do you know if your doc wants you doing truly low carb, or low Glycemic Index? Glycemic Index is much easier to follow and has made me feel like I'm not on a "diet" as much as just making a few small tweaks to my life. I'd be MORE than happy to help you with some recipes if you'd like.

Glycemic Index (what biggest loser, south beach, medifast and nutrisystem all use for their platform) is not so much eating low carb -although that is important, it is eating smart with carbs. Choosing complex carbs over simple carbs, paring protein and ideally vegetables with your carbs (much like how the fiber grams will cancel out some of the carbs in low carb eating and give you a Net carb total).

Something to consider..... it's easier to stick with and you can still do things like ordering out. Its been the easiest change I've ever made to my eating, and I have actually had to end my day with a spoonfull of peanut butter to get to my calories and fat because of how despite the amount I'm eating (and how full I am), I am still under in my calories.

Good luck to you you!
