Everlasting Enthusiasm

None are so old as those who have outlived enthusiasm.

Luk 8:13 "The seeds in the gravel are those who hear with enthusiasm, but the enthusiasm doesn't go very deep. It's only another fad, and the moment there's trouble it's gone. (MSG)

Jesus never causes us to lose the eternal enthusiasm that we receive at the moment of salvation. Is there a fad you followed or a fix-it quick cause you entertained that proved Jesus is the only one to to give us security and stability? I know some of these questions run quite deep, so take a deep breath and then allow the Holy Spirit to place something in your heart and mind.

I was instantly enthused when I was saved but realize that to me that it is important to walk close to Jesus and read the word to keep it alive

I think enthusiasm is man's way of trying to keep something alive with us. It is lived based on the ability of man to keep it alive, but when God conceives His passion in your heart for a desire that He wants you to be a part of, it will keep rising to the surface and fuel your enthusiasm! It is lived based on God's ability to keep it alive with you and not your own enthusiasm for it!

Good morning to you. I believe we have all gone through fads including those with dieting (pills, quick methods to lose weight, etc) Being a Christian is not different because gluteny is a sin. And a sin, is a sin no matter how you look at it. I'm with MaryJoanna on her comment. emoticon

The seed is the Word of God. If we cultivate it, fertilize it, and water it, it will grow. Through study of the Word, it will bear fruit.
