A couple of nights ago, my son and I played a few games on the Kinect. We had a great time and I was definitely sweating after a few of them! I thought "this might be a decent workout for nights I can't get to the gym. Lo and behold, he took the Kinect back up to his room today (was a snow day and he had a friend over) so I was Kinect-less.
Then it hit me...I still have the Wii down here! The Wii with a Wii Board and Wii Fit AND Wii Fit Plus. I hate to say it, but we bought the two games and the board and BARELY ever used them. I dug the board out from under the coach and popped in one of the games and went to town. An hour later, I was still at it. Now in my humble opinion, the Kinect workouts were a little harder (or maybe a little more challenging/active) but I was still able to get a decent workout in on the Wii. I also liked that there were yoga poses and balance games, as well as the cardio.
I can't see this as something I will do every night, but it was a nice change of pace from my same old workout DVDs on a night when the gym was out of the question.
(As a side note, I know there are a TON of workout videos on SparkPeople.com. I'm just not a huge fan of them.)
