No Processed Sugar...

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Couldn't sleep so on the computer I am! Going without processed sugar or sweets has been easier than I thought it would have been. I have found eating sugar creates wanting more sugar/sweets as we all know.

I am back to buying the bags of salad and this time I am putting the contents into a plastic lettuce saver. This is more convenient than rustling with the bag and clip to keep it closed. I am eating the salad with the mixed greens, grated red cabbage and carrots and then sometimes I add a small half of tomato or whatever is low cal to fill me up. Lately, I have been adding to the lettuce salad a small Navel Orange with Light Italian Dressing and is it delicious! Try adding some fruit to a salad - like Strawberries also, you will be amazed how it lightens up your taste buds in a delightful way.

Also, I am grabbing the water bottle and carrying it with me - this I never do as I am very bad about the water thing. I am trying! When I am really turned off to water I drink it with a straw and find I consume more of it without realize I am drinking it at all.

Last, I have discovered Light La Yogurt. Oh I know, many of you probably eat it, but I am not a big Yogurt fan, because I simply haven't discovered a Yogurt that I truly enjoyed. Well, this one is fabulous. So at night when I am sitting in front of the TV and seeing all the commercials about FOOD - I grab a Yogurt and I am happy. I also am rotating with the Atkins Chocolate Shake - really takes the wanting Chocolate away and I know the drink is healthy for me. Before, I would have a sandwich or a bowl of cereal and all those carbs turn right into sugar which puts all that fat on my body!

So, that is what I have been up to the past 9 days...and you know what? It is working for me. I had gained 25 lbs this past year with medicine changes and also by simply eating cake, ice cream and chocolate bars. Who am I kidding to think a bowl of ice cream can't hurt too bad? Or when I run to the store and I am standing in line with all the candy bars on each side of me - oh, I can have just one! Yeah, right!!!

My mind is alert, my stomach is receptive and my heart is happy. Onward and forward to this new lifestyle of weight loss - without sugary things!

and, so it goes on my side of town...

I have been without sugar 7 days. It is sooo challenging, but so worth it. I feel good. Not thin, but good.

I like yogurt okay but it never seems to be enough for me. So, I add mine to a serving of cottage cheese at breakfast and it goes very well!

Well, I have been trying to like Yogurt for some years now and just can't seem to enjoy it until now - I discovered La Yogurt Light and love it. I really like the Lemon Raspberry and the Apple Pie. Only 90 calories and 15 Carbs. Working for me at this time...next month who knows...LOL

This sounds like it is really working well for you.

I love salads of all kinds and ones with fruit as well. I love fruit.

I never liked yogurt but my doctor wants me to have it so I do. I have certain brands and flavors l like better. I like the cherry and the vanilla flavors the best. I try to get the reduced carb ones of the light and fit. I like Dannon and Carbmaster the best. I get Activia sometimes for the probiotics. I like the texture of Greek yogurt.
